...this has become one of my favorite Fogelberg albums. It got a lot of crap in its day from the critics, even from acquaintances of Dan's who criticized him for "attempting to write the ultimate divorce album" when his first marriage failed. The album really failed to take off, and was one of his poorest showings at the time. The four singles culled from the album also failed to storm the charts, but I really grew to like it. I'd always hoped for the the CD to be remastered, and I thought the day would never come, due to the lack of popularity. Yet, now it is here, and I am thrilled. Although I like many of the songs here (that are so much of a departure for Dan), I have grown the fondest of the smoothness of "The Way It Must Be," with the forlorn sadness and weeping of the steel guitars in the solo. I do not expect those who never liked the disc to appreciate it now - but to those of us who liked the tunes here before, it sure is great to hear them finally digitally remastered.
