I remember when her album Believe came out and I was obsessed with it. I was 14 and that’s when I became a lifelong fan of hers. I remember my friends mom had this album (love hurts) on cd, and I begged her to let me borrow it. This album is by far her best. it is so underrated, it’s sad. Every song is so good, and she was on top of her game vocally. In fact, my favorite Cher song ever is “save up all your tears.” Can we also talk about the original mirror image front cover, before they decided to change the cover for later reissues? One of the best of the era!This being the original release, the songs were cut from analog tapes, meaning the sound is amazing, far superior to any reissue vinyl, which used older “testing” vinyl press stamps because they didn’t have access to the analog tapes anymore to make new ones and it causes a sort of underwhelming faintness and flat sound, and CD’s made of the album, although sound pretty decent, are also missing that something you get from original vinyl release. It sounds evenly crisp, clear and punchy even if the LP is a little thin and flimsy.I’m so happy I found a copy on vinyl for my collection, since most copies I found are in Europe and shipping is expensive! So worth the price to have one of Cher’s more obscure releases with the original cover!
