A fan favorite O(+> album.I have a personal connection to this record as I was living in MInneapolis during the Come / Gold Experience / Exodus / Emancipation time period. Which means, I was at Paisley several times a week watching Prince perform the material from these records. So, this is the soundtrack to the best time of my life.He would pop up at clubs around town and play songs like P Control, Billy Jack B*tch, Now, We March, etc…. Then we would be at the studio and he would jam the isht out of those very songs live.At the time, this album was never to be released, etc etc…. He’s revolting against his contract with Warner Brothers over control / ownership of his masters, Slave written across his face (backwards), and changing his name to the symbol to separate himself from the name the labels owned - Prince.So, this is an important album in Prince’s discography as it signaled the peak of his fight with his record label, and the beginning of his independence from it.“The Dawn”
