One of the much more reasonably priced, & best Aznevour 'recordings you will hear (especially if you prefer snappy & yet romantic songs sung in English. Charles is fluent or semi- fluent in 6 languages so, over time, singing in semi-perfect english was not a problem for him. Lots of great songs on this recording with an outstanding mix of musicians supporting his vocals. Am not sure how many of these were written by him but, he was & (amazingly) still is at heart a song writer (having released/sold and/or recorded 800 of his own songs during his 65 yr career. At 95, he's still going strong (Tony Bennett, eat your big heart out/i thought yours was the longest career in the crooner biz until i zeroed back in on Aznavour's incredible life & productivity/80 or more recordings!!!! A must have for any fan of Mr. A. While i think i enjoyed & enjoy other long time crooners voices a bit more (such as Mr. C. Perry Como, John Gary, Bennett, Mel Torme, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion etc.), Mr. A has always had a classic, versatile, passionate, articulated french voice that is hard to resist. He's truly perhaps the most famous european Singer of the past 65 yrs, which in the world of music, is saying A LOT!!!! Enjoy.
