I really can't say more than what's already been said. Yes, it is as though Fellini got in a car accident with Sigue Sigue Sputnik, and just that kind of junk alone makes it a classic. Put aside all the hype, however, and you have a really well put together album that sounds primitive and banal and is meant to because it wants to be a pop experiment.(Nobody hates "Roll Over Beethoven because it doesn't have a solo). Emerge is practically a hymn to style over substance, and Megacolon is absolutely hilarious until you take it as a metaphor for the character's backed-up psyche. Be in on the joke by looking behind it- there's alot more going on here than a Spinal Tap for the rave generation....and by the way, between the chill of techno and the current affairs page, isn't it nice that someone came up with the antidote...
